Creating artwork from observations of the world around me has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I studied Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art and for many years taught art, learning so much more about the subject in the process. I recently joined the Edinburgh Printmaker's Studio where I work in etching and monoprint techniques.
The main focus of my current work is the woodland surrounding my rural home in Stirlingshire and the old forgotten dry stone dykes hidden in the woods. From drawings and paintings made outdoors I create artworks in various media including watercolour, oils and acrylics as well as printmaking. My work often contrasts strong linear forms with textural shapes.
